Privacy Policy

1. What information we collect

• Account information (name, email, password)
• Organization information (org name, member data entered by admins)
• Payment information (processed by Stripe, we never store card details)
• Usage data (how you use the platform)

2. How we use your information

• To provide and improve the Kinaara platform
• To send transactional emails (dues reminders, invites, announcements)
• We do not sell your data to anyone
• We do not use your data for advertising

3. How we store and protect your data

• Data stored in Supabase (hosted on AWS)
• All data encrypted in transit (HTTPS) and at rest
• Row-level security ensures organizations cannot access each other's data

4. Member data and organization admins

• Organization admins control member data within their organization
• Members can update their own profiles and communication preferences
• Members can request deletion of their data by contacting their org admin or emailing us

5. Communications

Kinaara sends transactional communications on behalf of organizations using the following channels:

Email: Sent via Resend. Members receive dues reminders, event notifications, portal invitations, and organization announcements. Members can opt out of non-essential emails at any time via their preferences page.

SMS: Kinaara may send SMS messages on behalf of organizations via Twilio, our SMS service provider. SMS messages are transactional in nature and may include dues payment reminders, event announcements, and important community updates from your organization.

Message frequency varies by organization activity — typically 2 to 4 messages per month. Message and data rates may apply depending on your mobile carrier and plan.

To opt out of SMS messages, reply STOP to any message. To get help, reply HELP. To re-enroll, reply START.

Kinaara does not send marketing SMS messages without your explicit written consent.

No Kinaara data is sold or used for advertising purposes.

6. Third-party services

• Stripe (payment processing)
• Supabase (database and authentication)
• Resend (email delivery)
• Twilio — SMS delivery service. Your phone number and message content are transmitted through Twilio to deliver SMS notifications. Twilio's privacy policy is available at twilio.com/legal/privacy.
• Vercel (hosting)

Each has their own privacy policy.

7. SMS Messaging

By providing your phone number and consenting to SMS notifications through Kinaara, you agree to receive text messages from your organization via Kinaara's SMS service.

Consent: SMS consent is obtained at the organization level. Your organization administrator is responsible for obtaining your consent before enrolling you in SMS notifications. You may update your SMS preferences at any time from your member portal preferences page.

Opt-out: Reply STOP to any SMS message to unsubscribe. You will receive a confirmation message and no further SMS messages will be sent.

Carrier disclaimer: Message and data rates may apply. Kinaara and Ward-Cubrilla Tech Ventures, LLC are not responsible for any fees charged by your mobile carrier.

Data shared with Twilio: To deliver SMS messages, your phone number and message content are shared with Twilio, Inc. Twilio processes this data in accordance with their privacy policy and applicable law. Kinaara does not sell your phone number to any third party.

Supported carriers: SMS messages are delivered via major US carriers. Delivery is not guaranteed and may vary by carrier and geographic location.
